Subscription Cancellation Policy
This policy explains how to cancel any ShapeUp subscription or membership plan, what happens to your access and data once a cancellation is processed, and the conditions under which refunds are issued.
1. How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time through one of the following channels:
- In-app — go to Profile → Subscription → Cancel Plan and follow the on-screen steps.
- Email — send a cancellation request to support@shapeup.app from the email address linked to your account.
- In-person — ask a staff member at your registered facility to process the cancellation on your behalf.
Cancellation requests submitted by email are processed within 2 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once the cancellation is complete.
2. Effective Date of Cancellation
Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain full access to all subscription features until that date, regardless of when during the period you submitted the cancellation.
If your plan uses a free trial, cancellation before the trial ends prevents any charge. Cancellation after the trial ends follows the standard end-of-period policy described above.
3. Auto-Renewal
All ShapeUp subscription plans auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually depending on your plan). To prevent the next charge, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
You can view your next billing date under Profile → Subscription. We will send a renewal reminder by email at least 7 days before any annual plan renewal and 3 days before any monthly plan renewal.
4. Refunds After Cancellation
ShapeUp does not issue prorated refunds for unused days in a billing period once the period has started, except in the following circumstances:
- Billing error — if you were charged incorrectly or after you cancelled, contact us within 30 days and we will issue a full refund.
- Service unavailability — if ShapeUp is unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours due to a platform issue, you may request a prorated credit for the affected period.
- Legal right of withdrawal — if applicable law in your jurisdiction grants you a cooling-off or withdrawal right for digital services, we will honor that right provided the service has not been materially used. Requests must be submitted within the legally required window (typically 14 days from purchase).

5. What Happens to Your Data and Access
When your subscription ends:
- Feature access — plan-specific features (e.g., unlimited class bookings, nutrition tracking, wearable sync) will be restricted on expiry. Basic account features remain accessible.
- Workout and progress data — your personal health and workout data is retained on your account and remains accessible regardless of subscription status.
- Wallet balance — any wallet credits are retained and can be used for pay-as-you-go bookings after cancellation.
- Booked sessions — confirmed bookings made before cancellation remain valid and are not automatically cancelled.
- Account deletion — cancelling a subscription does not delete your account. To delete your account and all associated data, visit Profile → Privacy → Delete Account.
6. Cancellation by ShapeUp
ShapeUp may cancel or suspend your subscription without notice if:
- Payment is not received after the standard dunning period (4 retry attempts over 7 days).
- Your account is found to be in material breach of our Terms of Service.
- We are legally required to do so.
In cases of cancellation for non-payment, you will receive at least one email notice before suspension. Disputed charges should be raised with us before initiating a chargeback — chargebacks may result in immediate account suspension.
7. Reactivation
You may reactivate a cancelled subscription at any time by selecting a plan under Profile → Subscription → Choose Plan. Reactivation starts a new billing cycle; prior billing history is retained for your records.
